For your history task, you are going to create an argument about why the Mayan people disappeared from their jungle cities. Archaeologists believe that there are a number of different things that contributed towards the collapse of Maya. Have a look at the PowerPoint for a range of reasons of why the Mayans could have disappeared. I would like you to decide on what you believe was the biggest influence/s on the Mayans disappearing ended up being. There are 7 reasons that archaeologists have decided on but they cannot decide on a specific reason. For your argument, select as many as you think are most important (there will be more than one) and explain why that is the most important compared to the other viewpoints. This will be done today and tomorrow as you think and decide on your reason/s and then formulate (create) your argument, considering the other viewpoints. I have left resources below to help. Use the English task from today to help you write your argument! Use fronted adverbials, conjunctions that show comparisons (look at those under exception, contrast/comparison and clarification), rhetorical questions, relative clauses and standard English.
