Lesson 5 from Week 1 and Lesson 1 from Week 2 is for today.
If anybody would like to have a game of Times Tables Rock Stars, I propose that at 10:45am-11:15am and/or 2:15pm-2:45pm you log on and we can try and get some games going against each other. I have put two times in case there are some of you who can't get on at one of those times and we will play daily!
No one has been able to beat me yet! My personal best is 75. Bring it on!
For your English task, go to https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/zbkbgwx and complete the activities. There are videos where the extracts are read to you and are also further down the page (I have also put them into a word document below for you if you wish to print them out). The tasks are to find examples of dialogue that move the text on (activity 1) and a P.E.E. (Point Evidence Explanation) style question (activity 2) to answer.
For activity 3, you will need to write the next chapter (if you can make a whole chapter) in the style of Matt Haig, following on the story.
There is a spelling list below for you to practise. I do not expect you to practise all of the spellings on the list. I would select maybe 7 or 8 from each section to practise. I would suggest that you try them and see which ones you know you need to work on!
This term, our new topic is to focus on:
We shall be doing various tasks about the Mayans across a number of subjects but for now, I would like you to find out:
Who the Mayans were,
What the Mayans are known for,
When the Mayans were around,
Where they were in the world.
We will be doing a range of activities but just to get your brain in the Mayan mindset and get yourself familiar with them, here is your chance to find out a little bit about them and their mysterious ways... ooooooooooo
For this, you could create a fact file, poster, PowerPoint or leaflet to present your research findings.
I will leave some websites below that you may want to visit!
