Maths:

For your maths task, go to https://www.thenational.academy/year-6/maths/calculate-unknown-angles-in-quadrilaterals-year-6-wk3-5 and watch the videos to answers the quizzes on the activity 'calculating unknown angles in quadrilaterals'. There is an introductory quiz to see what you know, a lesson video to watch, a 'worksheet' (which cannot be written on but you could write your answers on paper) and then an exit quiz. If this is easy, try the unknown angles in triangles lesson as well https://www.thenational.academy/year-6/maths/find-unknown-angles-in-triangles-year-6-wk3-4

If anybody would like to have a game of Times Tables Rock Stars, I propose that at 10:45am-11:15am and/or 2:15pm-2:45pm you log on and we can try and get some games going against each other. I have put two times in case there are some of you who can't get on at one of those times and we will play daily!

No one has been able to beat me yet! My personal best is 79. Bring it on!

English:

For your English task, go to https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/zmnwjhv, watch the videos and then complete activities 1-3.

There is a NEW spelling list below for you to practise and I would like you to select 7 or 8 to practise. I would suggest that you try them and see which ones you know you need to work on!

History:

Yesterday for your history task, you would have created an an argument about why the Mayan people disappeared from their jungle cities. Today is the chance to go back through and edit and improve the argument about why the Mayans disappeared. Remember to include all of the features mentioned below and make this argument powerful and clear enough that whatever reason/s you have given are the most logical and sensible.

Here is the task from yesterday as a reminder:

Archaeologists believe that there are a number of different things that contributed towards the collapse of Maya. Have a look at the PowerPoint for a range of reasons of why the Mayans could have disappeared. I would like you to decide on what you believe was the biggest influence/s on the Mayans disappearing ended up being. There are 7 reasons that archaeologists have decided on but they cannot decide on a specific reason. For your argument, select as many as you think are most important (there will be more than one) and explain why that is the most important compared to the other viewpoints. This will be done today and tomorrow as you think and decide on your reason/s and then formulate (create) your argument, considering the other viewpoints. I have left resources below to help. Use the English task from today to help you write your argument! Use fronted adverbials, conjunctions that show comparisons (look at those under exception, contrast/comparison and clarification), rhetorical questions, relative clauses and standard English.
